At the RaRa Foundation, we understand that some students need additional help and support in the classroom to be successful. Children with special health care concerns or disabilities have a right to the assistance they need in a public education setting. As a parent, you may need help navigating the different steps and requirements to get your child the support that they need. Whether your child needs to have an Individual Education Plan (IEP), a 504 Plan (not instruction support), or a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), We are here to help!
RaRa offers a FREE Initial Consultation where we meet with you and your child to discuss the different types of education and behavior plans. We will explain what these plans will mean for your child in the classroom and what your part will be in the process. Also, we will cover what rights you have as a parent/guardian and what rights your child has. We know this process can be overwhelming, but our advocates will make sure you feel confident and empowered to be the champion your child needs.
After the initial consultation, we will continue to meet with you to guide you through the process and ensure that your child has the help they need to meet their learning goals. We can join you for support during any school meetings. If your school is still limiting the number of people in meetings, you have the right to record the meeting and share it with your advocate. If you have already had a school meeting and feel like your concerns are not being met, you can request another meeting with your advocate there in person or on the phone.
At RaRa, we do not believe that cost should be a barrier to your child's educational success. During your Free Initial Consultation consultation, our advocates will work with you to come up with an effective plan to assist your child that also works with your budget!
